Calculating a fair price for Directory Submissions

Have you ever thought about the price you have to pay to have your site listed on a directory? Is it a fair price? Is it too much? On this article we will try to find the right prices for submissions to directories according to the PR of the page the listing appears on, and in comparison to prices for text links. We are also going to look at the advantages and disadvantages of a directory listing when compared to a text link.

Future of Directories

Web directories have been around since the beginning of the internet. They have been offering users a categorized list of sites, presenting an alternative to Search Engines. A very useful alternative indeed, because many times the results you get from a SE search returns more than just a few irrelevant links.This is because directories’ administrators have been choosing and accepting all quality sites, listing them in the appropriate category, rather than indexing all content and all URLs existing. About Google’s “anti paid link” campaign

So what is google trying to tell us? What happened during the last PR update? Is someone trying to make a point?
So let’s take things from the beginning. Google releases the PR as a way to measure the quality, strength and dynamic of a site. It was a way to separate the good sites from the weak ones so that ads distribution and search engine results presentation could be more effective.
